We offer tape & reeling to make it easy for you to use the obsolete components we sell in automated assembly.  We also offer it for excess stock we sell on behalf of clients, to make the parts more appealing to buyers.

For those that don’t know, tape & reeling means:

  • Tape: Components are placed in individual pockets on a long strip of carrier tape. Each pocket securely holds one component.
  • Reeling: The tape is wound onto a reel, much like a spool of film or tape. This reel can be loaded into automated pick-and-place machines during manufacturing.

The benefits for obsolete components are:

  • Ease of Use in Production: Even though the components are obsolete, many manufacturers still want to use automated equipment. Tape and reeling allows them to do that without needing to manually handle parts
  • Protection: This packaging protects delicate components from damage during shipping and storage
  • Marketability: Offering obsolete parts in tape and reel packaging can make them more appealing to buyers, especially contract manufacturers or OEMs trying to maintain older equipment.
